From the flamboyant hues of its world-class theme parks to the rich pastels of its striking subtropical sunsets, Orlando’s environs are truly a wonderland of color. And for the Orlando team of Coastal Painting & Concrete Restoration, helping clients maintain the color palette of a vibrant and growing community is more than just good business. It’s a mission.
Just ask Orlando Division Manager Ben Vendette, a team leader with 30 years of experience in managing commercial painting projects in the local market. Ben brought those years of experience, along with an extensive list of commercial client contacts, to Coastal Painting in 2022. Under his stewardship, the office’s business has grown exponentially over the past two years.
“In so many ways, Orlando is an exciting market for the painting trades,” Ben said. “We work mostly with general contractors on a variety of commercial projects, including an expanding small business retail market. As a rapidly growing community, we see a lot of new schools coming online, which has given Coastal a lot of opportunities. We also do government work, Section 8 housing and other important, local projects.”
Coastal Painting’s Orlando office is staffed by four full-time employees, including Ben’s wife and son. A field staff of 11 representatives cultivates the relationships and makes the connections that drive business, while a skilled estimator serves the needs of the entire company, including Orlando and other Florida markets.
“Commercial clients are our main focus,” Ben said. “In addition to new construction, we do a lot of renovation projects on existing facilities. The need for exceptional finishing services, both internal and external, is a constant challenge for these businesses.”
The main challenge driving frequent repaints of Orlando-area properties is the region’s torrid, subtropical climate. From constant, intense sunshine to the heat, humidity and occasional tropical storms blowing across the state, maintaining a property requires repaints every five to seven years, while businesses in other states might get away with 10 years or more. All of which keeps the Coastal Painting team busy. So does repeat customer knowledge that Coastal Painting workers arrive at a job with the skills, techniques and materials to do it right.
“We use products that are proven to be more resistant to Florida’s climate – heat, high humidity, sun, salt and UV rays that can be very destructive to coatings,” Ben said. “We also use commercial spraying equipment that can get a job done more quickly and efficiently, but using this equipment is a niche skill not everyone has. We have the right people who understand the use of specialized equipment, and we emphasize high-performance products specific to commercial applications.”
Which is why customers keep coming back to Coastal Painting to keep their properties looking their best.
“It’s all about customer service,” Ben said. “We deliver quality work on time and on schedule. Our focus is maintaining the promises and commitments we make to our customers. Always.”
